Role Overview:
Data Analyst Volunteers are key strategists for I Am Open, helping us make informed decisions by analyzing data trends and patterns. This role involves tracking user behavior, monitoring resource demand, and identifying areas of need so we can prioritize focus areas and allocate resources effectively. By interpreting data, Data Analysts provide insights that guide our team’s efforts to better serve communities during disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data from various sources, including website analytics, social media engagement, and user feedback, to understand how people interact with our platform and which resources are most needed.
- Trend Monitoring: Identify trends in resource demand, such as high-traffic locations or commonly requested services, to help us focus our efforts on the most impactful areas.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of our platform and outreach efforts.
- Reports and Insights: Create regular reports to share insights with team leads, helping to inform strategies for research, outreach, and volunteer recruitment.
- Collaborate with Other Teams: Work with Research, Social Media, and IT teams to ensure data-driven decisions guide our content, resource updates, and user experience improvements.
Skills Needed:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience with data visualization tools (preferred)
- Ability to interpret data and communicate insights in a clear, actionable way
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
